Different Ways You Can Use Makeup

There are so many different way you can use makeup! The application can make a gloomy day brighter or a bad day better! If you use makeup right, it can help you showcase your face.
If the day is dreary, use makeup to help change your mood! Bright eyeshadow colors or bold eyeliners can cheer you up and make you look like you're in a good mood, even when you're not. Dazzling eye colors can give you a sunny disposition, even if you're in a funk. Bad moods are running rampant in today's economic woes, so use makeup to make you feel good on the outside, even if you're crumbling on the inside.
Got a special occasion? Makeup can be used to dress up your look. You'll need to plan ahead and use more cosmetics than you normally do. This will help offset any LBD you're wearing and make you stand out in any crowd. Use thicker lines of liners and extra coats of mascara for formal occasions. Basic black or brown are always a good color choice because they look the most conservative and professional.
Like to express yourself? Women have been using makeup for hundreds of years to do just that. From the days of Cleopatra to the present-day, women have long been using makeup to protest, grandstand, revolt, promote, boast, or just to make a statement!

What's Your Hair Saying About You?

What does your hair say about you? Ever thought about it? It could be screaming bloody murder if you're not investing time! From your hairstyle to the length of your hair, it makes a loud statement before you ever open your mouth. In fact, if it's looking a little greasy or straggley, it's talking volumes about you behind your back!
When I do our weekly shopping, I am always astonished at how little time most people spend grooming their hair. It doesn't take much time so there's really no explanations for overlooking it, especially if you go out in public. Even if you're feeling under the weather, you can at least drag a comb through your locks. It's a basic part of good hygiene, that most of us learned at an early age!
How you take care of your hair is monumental in how it's going to look. If you don't bother loving it, your hair is certainly not going to look very chic. That also means that you don't abuse it by using hot tools or harsh chemicals too much of the time. Because of the way your hair is structured, it really doesn't take much to ruin your hair completely. If your hair gets frazzled, you have no one to blame but you!

Hair Salons Are Doing Their Part for Charity

Who knew how much money human hair could be worth. This highly sought after commodity can be customarily used for all sorts of things. Whether it be to make wigs to cover the bald heads of cancer patients who have endured the rigors of chemotherapy and radiation or make rugs and welcome mats to be sold to raise money, human hair has a wide variety of uses once it is cut off. Hair salons across the country routinely donate locks and hair clippings to various charities and even hold special fundraisers and events to bring widespread public awareness to how locks can benefit people once they have been cut off.
Socially conscious hair salons throughout the nation are doing their part to make the most of hair clippings and long locks. One organization that various hair salons work with is called Matter of Trust. This charity actually uses donated clippings to create hair mats that are used to soak up oil spills. As strange as this idea sounds, it is actually pretty ingenious. Matter of Trust absorbs the oil from tanker, rig and ship spills with the absorbent hair clippings. This prevents the spills from leaching into water and land habitats. Oil spills may sound like a small-scale problem, but according the Matter of Trust, there were actually over 2,600 oil spills throughout the world last year alone. Needless to say, the hair clippings that hair salons donate to Matter of Trust definitely go to good use!
Many barbershops and hair salons also offer their time and talents to help raise money for Saint Baldrick's Foundation. This charity encourages both men and women to take donations from friends and family in exchange for shaving their heads. Saint Baldrick's uses the monetary donations to fund research and raise awareness to the issue of various types of children's cancers.
