For the Ever Lustrous Skin! Dos and Don'ts of Skin Moisturizing

Overview:
A very essential part of obtaining a beautiful and gorgeous looking skin is a moisturizer. Acting as a barricade between our skin and the air molecules, the moisturizer prevents the elimination of water from the skin that maintains the natural moisture. Mostly people assume that applying moisturizer to the skin waters it and makes it beautiful and glowing. But that not might be the case every time. The primary purpose of a moisturizing cream is to grab the natural water that the skin produces. Although it is a temporary way of storing our skin water and protecting the skin but mostly all beauty care products do the same job.
The major purpose of a skin moisturizer is to give your skin a smoother surface and a glowing effect. The moisturizing cream plumps the skin which gives you a very silky and downy feeling with a refreshing impact. The advantages that are a part of the moisturizing your skin includes a better looking skin i.e. not dry or patchy, soothing redness and itchy skin and also to maintain the natural beauty. Most of these cream have SPF in them which guards you from the sun and also cures the already sun damaged part of the skin.
Well, although it is quite necessary to keep your skin moisturized but this process comes along with a good list of do's and don'ts. Always remember these few tips while using any moisturizing cream on your skin.
DOS:
1) Do scour wet skin:
The very first do in your list should be damping your skin before applying anything on it. So make sure when you are taking a shower you apply a good moisturizing cream on your face. Application of the cream should be done a wet surfaced skin to give better effect because when you scrub your dry skin, it leads to damaging the upper layer of your dermis.

2) Use facial cream and not a body cream on the face:
The moisturizing cream for your face is very much different from the cream which is used for the body. Our skin is very sensitive and it has thinner layers as compared to any body part. So always use a moisturizing cream which is meant for the skin and not for the body. A good exfoliating cream is meant to scrub off all the dead skin cells but using the one which is meant for your body may prove to be quite harsh on the face skin.
3) Maintain a healthy diet:
Moisturizing is not only done by external products. you should be internally healthy to see the perfect glow on your face. Eat products that are high in protein and fiber especially Vitamin C. These elements give your skin the moisture from within. Eat lot of fruits like pineapple and papaya as they help in excreting out the bad elements in the body and making you healthy consequently showing results on the skin.
4) Hydration:
It is very important to keep your body hydrated. Choose a good hydrating moisturizing cream and drink lots of water. Consume a t least 6-8 glasses of water each day as a duty. Water is a great source for rejuvenating our skin. It gives glow and prevents pimples and other skin diseases.
Don'ts:
1) Do not wash your face with soap. Soaps are harsh for your skin and can damage it. Always choose a medically fit light soap or a good soap free liquid cleanser.
2) Never scrub your face with coarse pads, grainy towels or washcloths. Make sure you just pat on the skin to dry it out with a soft towel or tissues.
3) Skin moisturizers can act differently on various skin types. For oily skin, a skin moisturizer is a bad idea. Instead you can use some light lotions meant for oily sins only. So before you choose a skin moisturizer for yourself, always determine your skin type.
